"What a beaut'!  It reminds me of simpler times," says Luke.  "Nice as it is do you have anything larger like a small box truck?"

"Nothing that runs."
"How do you hold on to an angel?"

"Hook em by the wing joint. You know where it jogs in there? Clip or a claw... a snare would do it."

"Well then, this might work," says Luke.  He opens the rear door and inpsects the back before moving to look at the drivers and passengers seats.

The back smells distinctly of sewage and plastic. Both of the seats are very worn with exposed springs.

"Wow, she pretty rough and smells like she was ridden hard and put away wet!  I hope it runs better than it looks," says Luke.

He grins and shrugs. "This is a salvage yard. Most things that wind up here have been through the wringer."

Luke chuckles and says, "Yeah, I guess I was hoping for too much.  Let's fire her up!"

The starter drags for a moment before roaring to life in a cloud of white smoke.

He hands Luke the keys and says "Take it around the block."

Luke smiles and says, "I doubt that it will take long to find out what she is capable of." as he chuckles.

He starts the truck, backs up and then puts it in drive and pulls out of the junk yard.  Luke drives it cautiously at first making sure that it does not stall.  Once he is more confident he checks it car out testing the wipers, the  turn signals, the AC if it even as that feature, the horn, the heater and fan, the interior lights, the windows if they are power and his window if they are not, he checks to see if the cigarette lighter works, and as he returns to the junk yard he punches it to see how fast he can get her going and then slams on the brakes to test them.

(let's see how she fairs before I head back to the junkyard)

It has a dead miss in the engine, the wipers work but one blade is dry rotted and the blade slide on the glass with a screeching noise, it has already dug a divot in the windshield from repeated use. The turn signals work, the horn honks, the heater blows air, the windows aren't power, there is no cigarette lighter, just the hole. The air conditioner doesn't appear to work, blowing warm air.

(How fast is he going to try to get it up to?)

He gets up to 50, and the van vibrates. He can tell that at least one of the steel belted tires is out of round.

Luke smiles to himself and thinks really what did you expect to find in a junkyard?  He drives back to the yard and says, "You are right she runs but it is rough.  What are you asking?"

Luke chuckles and says, "That's more than I paid for my first car and that car was in good working order!  How about $100?"

Luke smiles and says, "I can go as high as $150, I'd need the other $50 for air fresheners!"
