It is interesting because in Gurps the material it's made out of and all has a bearing on it's damage as well as it's durability. So you tell me what you think you want it made from and we will do that. Axe/Mace is for heavier items that need to be rebalanced after swinging. So something light and quick would be broadsword.

He wants a weapon he can conceal easily enough. Under a jacket or down the leg of his pants on the gammy leg side. Something he could (ahem) whip out when the situation called for it and best apply his strength to. Like a short club or baton.

If he has to improvise......A medium length hatchet handle with a gear head on it.
