"Daghmar"  calls out Clotilde.  "You need to talk to me.  I know you are there."

The door opened a tiny crack, and the darting, furtive eyes of Daghmar could be seen flitting left and right as he examined the corridor.  When he saw no one else was about, he opened the door further and gestured for Clotilde to enter quickly.

"Wegec," he whispered.
No, the RED is tens.

Clotilde quickly steps in, pulling the door almost shut.

Daghmar nodded to Clotilde and reached for the handle of the door.  He pulled it shut.

"We must not be overheard," he said in a whisper.

Clotilde tenses a bit, but otherwise simply waits.

Daghmar returned to his work.  Clotilde could see his equipment -- a very large and heavy Hillman's pack, his rope and hooks, his spear -- all cinched and ready to go.  Was Dagmhmar going to leave in the dead of night?

"Wegec," he said again, as he tightened the harness that would hold the pack to his body.  He looked up at Clotilde expectantly.

"What drives you to travel by night, as if fleeing?  I won't stay you in your mission Daghmar, but I need to know what we face and what we can do."  Clotilde pauses, "My father is missing and I need to find him or act in his stead for the good of the clans. What can you tell me that will let me do that?  What can you tell me to keep me from getting myself killed by ignorance?"  Clotilde's voice, which started firm and calmly is begging by the end.

Daghmar shook his head.  "I have told you all I know," he said, "and this in defiance of the orders of the Tark.  This only can I say:  dire is the need that drives Cagh Manunaw to seek the aid of the King of Stone Walls, who has oppressed us many a year.  I know nothing of this Malborn, save that men say he can see what passes in distant lands and read the minds and hearts of men at a distance.  And I do not know what choice Cagh Manunaw will make, whether to join the Nations, or to defy them.  But I greatly fear that either choice may prove ill.

"As for old Gredge, who can say where he is now?  Ever he came and went at will, though the years of his journeying are long past now, they say.  It is told among the Hunters that in his youth, he was the greatest traveler the Siol Nunaw ever knew of, going to far countries, and even into the distant and deadly north.  Perhaps he has returned to those desolate lands, or others, where it is said he ventured in long years past.  If you seek him, you may travel far, and your search may be fruitless.  I will ask Malborn what he can tell of old Gredge, if you wish it, though when and if we may meet again, I cannot say."

Clotilde sighs, "Is there nothing you can tell me to guide my search?"

Daghmar frowned.  "Alas, Wegec, no.  Indeed, I have said more than I ought already, and can only hope that Cagh Manunaw will not be angry.  But forgive me, for it is late, and I must be away with first light."

Clotilde sighs again, ... "Think well and long Daghmar as you prepare to go.  If there is any scrap that could help me, let me know before you go.  May the blessings of our land and ancestors be with you as you seek aid and wisdom."  Clotilde turns and slowly leaves.

Will you retire to the common room, or to the upper story of the stables, with Jorg?

Updated (3 development points) Clotilde spreadsheet -- 1 rank each in stalk/hide, herblore and foraging.  Let me know if there are any issues.  Thanks

No issues that I can see.  Thanks for managing the update.

At the moment, we are still at the Rangers' Camp.  Feel free to roleplay any business you want to before we set out in the grey mists of morning in the Trollshaws.

And welcome back.
