OtS - mechanics
« on: June 17, 2018, 10:16:10 PM »
Hi guys,

Mechanics for this game will be kept as simple as possible. But a character sheet is unavoidable, so here's a blank one.

Note that there is no reference to magic, but I'll allow a broad range of utility and influencing 'spells'. I can't accomodate undead, but I can work with poisons, delusions and so on.

Also, as this is a short game, the character sheet will be a one-off (in terms of time elapsed in game, we're talking about a week or two at most; major character development would be odd in such a short timespan). So spend your points wisely!

You can allocate the following points:
- 70 points for attributes, which will make your character more of a melee fighter, ranged fighter or more of a schemer. As you're all nobles, I've assumed you would have had some fighting in your education, but not made a career out of it. You get a few free points, but the marginal benefit of extra pints goes down fairly fast
- 100 points for skills, this is on top of a total of 60 you already get for free. Noble merchants would have good social skills, perception and existing knowledge
- 70 points for your assistant. Assistant points can be put in no more than 2 slots (strength/focus/social/perception/influencing/physical attack/existing knowlegde). If your assistant does something on its own, that is the bonus his roll will get. If your assistant aids you with something, you can add half his/her bonus to your own roll. here is where you can build momentum in a certain direction, or compensate for flaws your main character doesn't have.

Please fill out the form, and post it in your personal threads!
