IC 02- Dragon's Honor
« on: March 05, 2006, 02:29:26 PM »

Martin decides to find out more about the supervillain Shock. He goes online and accesses what information is available to know more about what he'll face. He looks especially for people who know Shock, who he could question and get a start on where to go.

Going online Martin discovers that although Shock doesn't quite qualify as a megavillain, she's working on it.

Shock is one of those villains that everyone seems to have heard of. She doesn't show up often, but when she does, it's sure to be one heck of a show for she is as flash as her super ablities.  She seems to like the attention her activites draw and appears to try to make the biggest impact she can, whether it's demonstrating her powers for the news crews or through the newsworthy swath of devastation she leaves behind.

Her tradmark is to stop all the clocks at wherever it is she's about to hit.  Usually, by the time someone notices, it's too late to do anything about it.

She was a criminal mastermind on the West Coast until she got into a failed coup against her old bosses.  There are rumors that the crime lord she tried to seize control of was her own father, and instead of killing her, he put her through his "organization's" experimental mutation program.

Later she showed up in the North East region, banging around New York and Chicago, slowly gaining experience in her work.  After being captured by SCRET during a botched bank robbery in Chicago  she was locked away in a medium securtiy containment facility for superhumans.    She escaped shortly afterwards and has disappeared, until now.

Shock is unpredictable- sometimes killing and sometimes sparing her superhero foes.  She's highly energetic and seems to love the destruction she causes in battle.

Her known powers are: Ater Physical Structure: Electricity. energy Absorption, and a Powerful Electrical bolt.

Knowing more about Shock, but nothing about associates, he looks up what he can find about the theft of the robot, and any description given about the robot. He finds the number and checks to see that he remembers it right. He finds out all that he can about the robot before going out to look around.

A few phone calls later Martin was able to finagle a pseudo-classified file from a low leve tech over at
Storm Avionics.  It was part of the "official" file sent back to the Pentagon describing what the robot carried.
[attachmentid=263]
A-11 Assault Robot  (Storm Avionics)
Cost: $21.6 million in production cost.  $28 billion in R&D.
Height: 45 feet
Weight: 125 tons
Sensors and Systems: Micro-fusion power plant (Alpha Prime has asked to see the design specs and was refused access).  Advanced audio system, audio recorder, loudspeaker, advanced robot optic systems, laser targeting system, telescopic enhancements,
Weapon Systems:
 Eye Ion beams (six)
20mm shoulder Gun (Modified 20 mm auto cannon designed like a oversized shoulder rifle)
Mini-missile launcher (payload- 18; range 1 mile)
Two .50 cal machine guns mounted in the forearms
Long range missile launcer (1 cruise missile mounted in the back- range 500 miles)
Medium Range Missile Launcher: (payload 2 missiles: range 40 miles)
Diablo Anti personel Defense system (classified)
Forearm blades

Martin does know that McKenzie Storm the rather controversial and brilliant  head of Storm Avionics has publicly stated that should Alpha Prime show up at any of her corporation's facilities then Storm Avionics will be glad to ship what's left of her back to space in one of their experimental space planes.

Martin immediately decides that he likes McKenzie Storm, believing that the alien Alpha Prime has no right to regulate earth's technology. Punishing the interstellar criminal was one thing, but she went too far in refusing to allow earth to continue to use the technology. Putting that thought aside, he moves through an underground passage built to allow him access to the outside without coming from the house. He changes to his winged, scaled shape, allowing the backpack hiding his wings to become his costume.  He looks first to see that there is no one around. When that is true, he blasts out of there at full speed, going first out to sea, skimming the waves with his force shield up. He soon turns upward heading back over the town, looking for anything that might be a sign of the huge robot's passage, if not the robot itself. He slows over the city to give himself a chance of seeing anything out of the ordinary...

The late Friday evening sun was setting in the western sky, sending streaks of gold, purple, and orange across the horizon.  The early March wind coming off Lake Huron was cold against his skin invigorating him as he banked and headed toward Center City.  Late evening traffic was slithering through the city like some giant read serpent.

Several hours later, there was no sign of the robot.  However over the the club district in Northern Central City, a sight catches his attention that sent chills down his spine.  One of the biggest fears of Central City was that the color punks from Brisbay Flats would make their way into the middle class havens, and from the looks of things their fears were coming true.  Several young men, looking very much out of place in the yuppie patrons of various restaurants and clubs were making their way down the street.  People were nervously giving them a wide berth, and experience had taught Martin that their body language indicated they were out for trouble.

Banking around to get a better look, he noticed them stop and check an address before entering a club marked as The Forever Knight.

Martin touches down in front of The Forever Knight, keeping his shield at maximum strength, and follows the young men into The Forever Knight. He is determined that this be stopped now. He steps warily, watching around him carefully, eviluating the situation. If confronted by the young men, he will immediately increase the gravity around them to his maximum capability.

Like most clubs, this one was dark. Thanks to the city's smoking ban it was clear of the usual haze of cigarette smoke, but the musing pulsing from the loud speakers was almost overwhelming.  As Dragon's Honor entered the main room a wave of surprise passes through crowd as everyone turns to see what will happen.  For a long moment the only sound in the establishment was the music playing as all eyes were on him.

A tall man with a thick head of hair and black mustache approached him and asked him in a thick Eastern European accent, "Are you here for the atmosphere, or is there a problem?"

On the other side of the club he could see the color punks suddenly dart toward the back exit.

Martin increases the gravity around the color punks immediately. "I think I could enjoy this atmosphere, now that I know you are here. Right now though, I could tell that those color punks who just came in, and are trying to run out the back, were about to cause trouble. I take time to let them know that their mothers are calling them home, back in their own neighborhoods... before they cause you a problem."

Martin smiles, I'm Dragon's Honor, and glad that I can be of assistance. We don't want their kind coming to this part of town and causing those accidents. All they are is a problem. After I make sure they are gone, and that they know they are watched for, I will return to enjoy the atmosphere of your establishment. I like what you've done with it. Excuse me for a few minutes please. I will come back to talk more and enjoy The Forever Knight's atmosphere. Dragon's Honor also grins in appreciation of the men's plight, and returns the nod of respect.

I will return shortly, he says with a smile. Walking to the back he looks down to the color punks. What made you think you could come to this part of town, and who calls himself your leader?

That's not going to happen. Right now we're about to go out back and talk about this some more. Don't think you can run off. You and I have some talking to do. You haven't even started to taste my power... and you don't want to. I ease off the gravity and we go outside and talk. You tell me what the problem is and we go from there. Dragon's Honor allows the beam energy to build in his mouth as he speaks, giving the appearance of flames flickering in his mouth. Using his shield to allow him to walk through the group, he opens the door and steps outside. He lessens the gravity field surrounding the gang members saying, Step outside now. If any start in the other direction, he immediately increases the gravitational field again. Once they come outside he closes the door and tells them, That was a bad start, but you shouldn't have started to run. Let's start from scratch. I'm Dragon's Honor, and I'm sorry to embarrass you. That was the only way to stop you without hurting you. Let's talk while we walk back toward Brisby Flats. What's your beef with this place?

With his own sudden change of attitude, Martin couild sense that the color punk's attitude shifted as well.  It was almost as if they immediately recognized him as the stronger force- the Alpha of the pack.  "Money man," the leader said.  "There's some really old money flowing in the veins of some of those leeches.  We want a cut."

Okay, not quite what they look like. This one might need a different approach than the others do. Let's go to your place first, so I can check back with you, then let me try my approach with them. Dragon's honor smiles bleakly as he says this. They may listen to me where they don't to you.
