Sci-fi BugHunt (As in Aliens, or Starship Troopers)
This was one of the requests in the "Players Recruiting" thread that i may take up in the new year, and I think I would use the old TSR Bughunters (Amazing Engine System) setting as a base, but not use the actual system itself.
My prefered system would be HARP Sci Fi, hopefully it will be available in print soon, and my preference would be either that the players own a copy or alternately that at least one of the players owns a copy and would be willing to co-gm the portions related to Character Creation and leveling up, and possibly assist in answering rules questions.

So, a small survey. ...

Are you interested in playing? Yes
Do you own or plan to own HARP Sci Fi? Yes (beta and full release) ... and am GM'ing a face-to-face campaign ...
Do you own HARP? Yes (every edition, including the limited edition red cover) :)
Do you own HARP Lite? (it's free) Yes
Do you own any version of Spacemaster, if so, which version? Yes - several copies of every edition
Would you prefer that to HARP Sci Fi? No preference
Do you own Bughunters? Yes (but I can't find it ...)
Would you be willing to Co GM? If necessary

Welcome!  And not owning Bughunters, or owning it and not being able to find it is not a disadvantage in this campaign, I was just curious as to how many people were familiar with it, and how much I might have to change things in it if they were.

Pvt. Fubar reporting for duty, Sir!  :P

Is there still room for one more?

The survey, let's see...

Are you interested in playing?

Yes.

Do you own or plan to own HARP Sci-Fi?

I plan to own it, but I was waiting for the final version.

Do you own HARP?

Yes.

Do you own HARP Lite? (it's free)

Yes.

Do you own any version of Spacemaster, if so, which version?

I own the Spacemaster boxed set, but I haven't looked at it in years.

Would you prefer that to HARP Sci-Fi?

No, I want to try HARP Sci-Fi out.

Do you own Bughunters?

Yes.

Would you be willing to Co GM?

No.

Any other suggestions or questions?

Not at the moment, but if I come across anything I'll let you know.

Looking on the ICE Online shop for HARP Sci-Fi, I see that two versions are currently only available- the Limited Edition GenCon Release, and the HARP Sci-Fi Gamma PDF.  Currently, both are on sale for 25% off original price.  However, even with the discount, why would I want to buy the GenCon edition for $26.25 USD if it contains errors, and no updated version would be provided?

The Gamma PDF is looks better; at least it's complete, but just missing any art.  However, even with the discount, $15.75 USD is kind of steep for a PDF of a book missing the art.  Is the Gamma PDF worth the $16 bucks?  Or should I wait for the completed book to be released?

Ah, who am I kidding?  I will probably get at least $20 bucks for Christmas, so I will more than likely buy the Gamma PDF at this point in time.

The PDF price isn't going to change ... buy the "gamma" now, and you can update it with the full art version as soon as it comes available.

What you can't get at the moment is a printed copy!

Yeah, ICE is kind of pricey with its PDFs, in my opinion.  I doubt the price will come down more than the already discounted 25%.

You can udpate the Gamma PDF when the art is finished?  It didn't say anything about that on the page for it.  That's cool then.  That makes the price more acceptable to me, which makes it even more likely that I will purchase the PDF with some Christmas cash.

It'd probably be worth downloading HARPlite. . .it's free, and even if it's the fantasy version, it at least has some of the tables and basic information like stats and such in it.

Are you interested in playing?
Most certainly. I've been itching to play HARP in nearly any format for ages now.

Do you own or plan to own HARP Sci Fi?
Plan to do so in the near future here.

Do you own HARP?
Yep

Do you own HARP Lite? (it's free)
Yep

Do you own any version of Spacemaster, if so, which version? Would you prefer that to HARP Sci Fi?
Nope

Do you own Bughunters?
Somewhere I have it...

Would you be willing to Co GM?
For simpler stuff, like character generation and the like, sure.

Any other suggestions or questions?
Nothing leaps to mind...
Hello, IT, did you turn it off and turn it on again?

Don't think of it as being vastly outnumbered. Consider it a target-rich environment.

Welcome!  There's always room for more Bug Chow!
Have you had a chance to look through the Character Generation notes in the main Game area yet?
