One TP per level, if you can afford it?

I was using Cormac's sheet to build, but I think something's whacky, as the character sheet tab looks like a cleric. . .where can I grab a blank sheet?

Ok my questions:  I want to take spy at level 1. would love to keep spy the entire time but it isn't listed at level 2 .. Scout is.. So what is the difference between scout and spy?

Also I don't have the book so will need help  to do the character. any offers?

I choose or am trying to choose
level 1 spy
levell 2 scout,  dp for con talent enhanced senses
level 3 dp for agility/reasoning talent: ambidextrous  (second talent sure shot if alble)
level 4

MSO Marine scout (infiltration and Observation)

Background information write up awaiting generation of character.

You could keep spy if you wanted.

I chose "Frontier", it fits with my concept. . .I'll change if it's an issue.

Is there any benefit to TPs in HARP SF, other than the fact that you get a pre-selected bunch of skills? (Is there discounting or any sort of bonus involved?)
Frontier is fine.  I believe the TPs give a 25% discount

Blank charcter Sheet:

I think the one at the top of the page is the most up to date version:

Just a note, I'm out of town at the moment with somewhat spotty internet connection and without some of my books, so I've only been checking the boards for a few minutes once or twice a day.

Confuzzled.

Create a character, do level 1

Level 2, I have 36 DP. so If I:
Change professions 36-15=21
Raise 2 stats by 10 each 21-20=1
I only have 1 left, and cannot afford any of the talents listed.

If I choose to keep pilot
Raise 2 stats 10 each 36-20=16
I cannot afford to purchase any 2 talents on the list for 16.

Did I screw something up?

Nope ... OB's character build appears to assume that we all have a lot more DPs ...

I think you choose to raise one or the other stat not both unless I misread it.

Nope - it clearly states spend 20DPs on stats ... not "up to 20", but "spend 20"

at level 3, it lists 2 pairs, you chose one from each pair, or spend the 20 DPs split among all 4 ... but you still spend 20DPs

I'll have to take another look at my instructions this afternoon.  I may have screwed something up.  Can everyone post how many DP's they have for first level?  That will help me sort things out as well.

41 (on a 550 stat build, available DPs should range from 32-42 DPs ... rising as stats are increased)

Okay, not sure what I was thinking of when I came up with those guidelines, but I've now added in an extra level, so basically what I had down for level 2 and level 3 can now be spread over levels 2, 3 and 4

One breakdown that every character should be able to make would be:
Level 1 - same as before
Level 2 - Profession Change and raise 1 stat
Level 3 - Raise 3 stats
Level 4 - buy Talents, 1 from the Level 2 list and 20 DPs from the Level 3 list

If you don't change profession at level 2 - I assume it is OK to raise 2 stats as originally described.

Also, any DP remaining after stat increase and some talent purchase, I assume we can spend on appropriate skills.

It is against the rules to spend more than 20 DPs on stat increases in any given level ... although the GM is at liberty to waive this restriction

Yes, that would be fine.  Consider those to be suggestions, not written in stone.
As for the 20 DP per level for stat increases, I'll waive that for character creation if you wanted to raise 3 of the stats on one level.
Really, I'm considering the first 4 levels to all be part of the cloning process, the levels themselves are an artificial division, all the changes are occurring at the same time in the vat.  It's only 5th level that is truly separate and represents "post vat" training.
