It's been a long time, but nostalgia and a nice simple system call to me. . .I think it would be loads of fun.

You wanting ground pounders only, or are you wanting to go up to Night Hawks?

As I said before, I could go for some Star Frontiers as well.
But I know I don't have the books anymore.

I got em. All of them. And your pretty modules too. Get enough people and I'll run it. Not nearly as complex as some of the other stuff. I guess I can handle it.

Give me an idea of which way you want to go. Vote for as many as you want. Just because we start with one type doesn't mean it can't change as time goes on and players take different job opportunities and such.

For those interested. The complete rules can be found here:
http://www.starfrontiersman.com/downloads/remastered

These are the Alpha Dawn rules, and I am using first edition, but there doesn't seem to be much difference from what I have read going through them.

Gamma Dawn seems to be the revised edition Gamma World rules modified for use with Star Frontiers. (I recognized the cover art, read the preface.)

We will be using Star Frontiers rules, and Night Hawks rules, but not Gamma Dawn or Zebulon's Guide, though I may adapt some things out of Zeb's Guide later.

Yeah. I just got through skimming it and Zeb's guide. Zeb's guide completely redoes the combat system in a way that is very underwhelming to me. And I don't see a need for Mutants in this, plus Gamma World mutants were pretty rough.

I'm kinda leaning towards PI or Bounty Hunters. Kinda a different spin on the space game. Although I fear I am turning every genre into a western somehow.

As I mentioned, I don't have the book, but Star Frontiers is where there was the race blobs (single cell huge creatures that could form limbs as needed) right?

We have Star Trek going for the "sanitized for your protection" space game.  Something gritty is fine.

I don't know if you remember the show, but there was a cartoon called Galaxy Rangers...basically cowboys in space...complete with cyborg horses. (long before gritty "firefly").

Yup. You can get the books at the link. They are free PDF downloads.

Star Frontiers is one game I never got a chance at when it was published.  I'd like to give it a try.

So that would be four. I am thinking that I like the Bounty Hunters idea. If people take a loan of over a certain amount, they have to be implanted with a chip. If they default on their loan, then the chip sends a signal whenever they are near a detector telling that they have defaulted. For loans of under 10,000 credits, the bank will pay the amount of the loan to recover the defaulter alive. For more then that, the banks pay a percentage. This makes life difficult for people who default. I can see this being an interesting way of making a living.

So, we will be playing futuristic "Dog the Bounty Hunter."  Beyond loans, I guess that there will be fugitives on the run we will also go after....

Yes. There will be that. And remember, that's just how it will start. I don't care where you go after we begin. I'm kinda funny that way.

Hey, the best games are those that start out with a plan...and like life, evolve!

Is it to early to talk about what people are thinking of playing?
