RPGResourceMasters Newsletter for April 2009
This month's focus: "I Want to Play"
We had some success at the end of 2008 with the "I want to play" thread that invited players to throw out games, ideas or concepts and try and find other players with similar tastes and fish for a GM to run for them. As a result, there are more games running on the board right now than ever before. We've locked and archived that thread, but opened up a whole "I Want to Play" board to allow players to toss out ideas, and find people who have similar tastes. GMs can always choose to start and create a new game on their own, but this now offers GMs a place to browse and see some ideas that already have support. So, if you're a player, check out the "I Want to Play" board, open threads on any game idea you'd like to play, or jump into any thread that interests you. The more players calling for a game, the more attractive it is to a GM. (It's rare to see a game with four or five players calling for it remain up long, as a GM usually comes along and snaps up a game idea with a ready made party attached to it.) Don't fear that a game is too esoteric or old, toss out any idea you want to play, you'd be surprised, you might provoke a flood of nostalgia, or discover a bunch of people who also play that rare game system. If you prefer to GM, come by and take a look anyway, perhaps a group is in there asking someone to run that system you'd considered running a bunch of times, but never expected to be able to find players for.
