Baran - Numalia, Inn

"He didn't say something about working at night,
but you are right."

Dinak manages to work his way into the crowd and then blends into the basket shop.

Strom manages to fade back into the passageway leading back upstairs, yet he waits a moment watching the two individuals who were speaking with Dinak.

Thabo and Baran seem to be comfortable enjoying their food and drink as they quietly discuss their current situation.

Dinak

Dinak will wait for about half an hour to see if the other two emerge from the inn.   If they do not exit by then, he will head to his meeting with Catalina at the dive bar on Paladin’s Way.

Strom

Returns to the room and watching the action, or inaction, as it may be.

Baran - Numalia, Inn

"Work at night, not always work."

Thabo's last comment send Baran into a bad mood.
But luckily Thabo knows what to do and tells Baran one of his wonderful stories,
like the one with the duck and the ant.
Baran only knows that there is a duck and an ant, nothing more,
but the way Thabo tells his stories always lightens Baran's mood.

Therefore Thabo and Baran spend more than half an hour at the inn.

Dinak

After a half an hour of waiting Dinak decides that the other two will not be leaving anytime soon.  So he moves on to the dive bar on Paladin Way to meet with Catalina.  Dinak (aka Maros) enters the bar and assumes his seat in the dark corner he sat in before.  He orders a beer and nurses it until the Zamorian woman arrives.

Strom, seeing all the action has ended, goes over his gear, then heads downstairs looking for the innkeeper.

Thabo

Strom arrives just in time to overhear the end of Thabo's story, which has gathered a smallish audience in the telling.

"...but then the duck returned, and seeing the ant sitting on her eggs, she quacked and quacked, "Silly ant, you cannot sit my eggs and keep them warm!"

The ant replied, "If not me, then who? Your eggs are warm still, and I sat them while you played in the waters."

The duck, now mad, gave the ant pieces of her mind, "Ants can not sit eggs!"

To this the ant just smiled and replied very simply, "Yet they just did."

Thabo smiles a glowing smile and leans back, obviously completed. Most of the audience looks puzzled, and turns away. A few, however, purse their lips and nod.

Some generous sould sends more drink to the table, and Thabo pours, then slurps his cup with relish, for storytelling is thirsty work.
One often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it.

Strom gets the inkeeper's attention, occasionally glancing at the crowd around the strange man.

Shows him the broken spearshaft.

"Need a smith for a small job, broke the pole, need a new one fitted, one close by?"

Baran - Numalia, Inn

At the other end of the inn Baran shows his amusement.
But he remembers the first time Thabo told him this story with more sounds and less words
- a funnier version of it.

Strom

Slaps the counter hard with the broken stick end (the side without a foot of metal blade sticking out) in an effort to get the innkeep's attention.
