Bruce clambers up onto the roof of the Jumpship and after some tinkering frees the reciever. Inside the jumpship Susan and Dr Keene work together to find the signal...

"Left a bit, right a bit..."

Eventually, the signal strength is sufficent that the Doctor is able to link his own Min-comp to the reciever, boosting the signal.

The GPS indicates that you are about 200 metre south of the Northern coast of an uninhabited, rocky island in the Las Guauas chain.

This is about 250 miles from the colonial settlement of Puerto del Norte. The hurricane obviously pushed you someway off course.

This appears to be the last landmass for over 1000 miles if you continued south.

On the bright side... the communications array is picking up satillete signals. Communication is now possible using the Jumpships reciever.

Then he sits atop the Jumper wondering if he didn't screw something up...

Both Suzzanne's and Dr.Keene's Personal comp's bleep as they register several incoming transmissions.

(The signal to Suzzannes possibly due to the equivilent to the wi-fi aspect of the jumpship..)

The messages are requesting sit-reps... they are today (about midday, when you were in the harbour) and one yesterday (about midday, when you left the base.).

Apparently during this time neither transmission got through. However, the signal appears strong enough to make a reply.

You have to date been in communication with your superior/s only once, the day you arrived at the base. This was done with the mini-comp that Dr Keene has, its a little more powerful. Dispite this, the signals, for some reason have not been recieved until now.

(OOC: With the renewed communication you are able to call for help, make a report etc...)

Dr. Keene also checks his messages. "I suppose we should send some sort of sitrep?" he says to Suzanne. "I don't think we are in any condition to continue, perhaps call in for a pick-up, and let the pros pick it up from here?", he adds.

"As for it, there is a what-if."

Suzanne Wrightsmith

Suzanne nods, "Very well then."   She then sends her message to Anasi, "Wrightsmith, Suzanne...id code 44332211, mission complete. Request pickup at these coordinates. Will need further assistance to advance to next phase."

A reply comes back almost immediately...

****

1. Please confirm site integrity.
2. Has contact been made with site personnel?
3. State probable cause for break in communications.

The message is repeated.

Bruce manages to fix the reciever in place and comes down of the roof of the jumpship accompanied by Caio.

"Well, you've got it working...best we call for help. I suspect Bruce here could get this crate in the air, but I'm sure even with his great skill we could keep it there...." he says to Suzzanne and Dr Keene who are both dumbly staring at the message..

"I suggest that we contact the GEO, immediately. I'm only an observer here but that stripped down powersuit we found? My guess it was stolen. It was an orbital insertion suit...as was the module we found.. GEO Shocktroopers use them. But my guess is that it was dropped here THEN someone used it...cos whoever it was couldn't have survived re-entry with no lifesupport. That means it was someone already here."

Once the sit-rep has been sent, the Anasi Supervisor (Suzzannes immediate superior) confirms reciept and says that they will contact the GEO direct to arrange a pickup from your co-ordinates.

***********************

About 10 minutes later there is an update saying that a GEO recovery team will arrive in an hour from Crusoe Island (known as Fort Solitude by the GEO).

***********************

An hour passes and a VTOL arrives at the crash site. The party are taken on board and taken back to Crusoe Island. After an hours flight and you have landed Bruce, James and Caio are immediately seperated from the rest by armed GEO Shocktroopers. The remains of the Anasi survey team, Dr Keene and Suzzanne are sheparded into seperate holding areas and debriefed..

The GEO personnel seem very edgy with both groups that they are de-briefing.. though they are courteous it would be a small step from an interview to an interrogation...

(OOC: Each character is seperately interviewed. If anyone wishes to make a post regarding theories or suspicions about what happened then now is the time... ;))

What happens next.. (I'm assuming that the players have the truth cooerced out of them...)

The independants (Bruce and James) are asked to report on what they believe happened... Bruce is a little disadvantaged since he personally never went to the Anasi site. As this is confirmed independantly by all concerned he is free to go, however, several questions are asked about his actions in the fight to recover Bob. The G.E.O. do not appear too concerned that he was involved in a shoot out in broad daylight in a small colonial town...they seemed more interested in who was being fought. After he identifies the other combatants as GenDiver employees they seem satisfied.

James is questioned a little more throughly. He did visit the Anasi site and was a major conributor to the casualties in the colonial town. Again they don't seem that concerned about the fight once he confirms the presence of a superior number of armed Gendiver personnel. However, he is carefully questioned about his actions at the Anasi Research Base. The GEO interrogators seem especially interested in James's attempts to open several doors within the base, specifically the one leading to the lab where the body of the female researcher was found. James did not have the required code to easily gain access, which means that whoever entered the lab and killed the female researcher did, since the door was locked when the party arrived and there was no other means of egress to that area. They next turn their attention to the armoured suit and the atmospheric insertion pod in the jungle nearby... James didn't know an awful lot about it, except it appeared to be stripped down and of military issue.

===============================================

The interview with Caio is a lot more in depth, Caio having no reason to do otherwise tells the complete facts as he knows them. It is quite clear from the interveiwers manner that the GEO were aware of the teams mission and the Ansai Research base at Pettibone.

They discover that there had been some efforts to conceal the base from the view of satillites and that the very same efforts prevented out-going transmissions. This he discovers is not entirely unexpected to the GEO interviewers, Anasi, are a very secretive corperation and their on-world operations are very heavily scrutinised by the other rival corperations. Gendiver having the closest installations to Pettibone and being the most powerful of the corperations are therefore the prime suspects for any attack upon the Anasi camp. He also mentions that the bases cameras were reportedly said to have images of an overfly by a craft in Gendiver livery a couple of days before the attack.

What he discovers at the camp is noted, with questions being asked about Susan's discovery in the storeroom and the corpse of the female researcher in the lab. He informs them that it appears that the assailant gained access through the storeroom wall, presumably by the use of cutting equipment. He also says that the tracks led to an atmospheric insertion pod a few km into the jungle. He also notes that the insides of the insertion pod were heavily stripped down. He confirms that entry to the lab by James was unconventional and that the door codes to the lab were different to those used elsewhere in the other modules at the base, indicating a higher level of security. He reports the discovery of two more bodies further out in the jungle (by the missing hovercraft) and the heavily booted trail leading to a armoured GEO enviromental suit and the remains of its wearer. He also states that even with his little experience of such matters that the suit also appeared to have been stripped down prior to the death of it's occupant. At this point he mentions that from Susans discription of the team that three of the team were out surveying, the female researcher was in the lab, one member was servicing the hovercraft and that she was in the storeroom. He continues to surmise that all the team had apparently been accounted for bar one... with the environmental suit appearing to contain the remains of one of them. The last member, Bob, was later recovered from a local colonial town after being discovered by a couple of locals in a badly injured state. As they were about to leave with the injured Bob a squad of Gendiver personnell arrived at the same time, apparently to collect Bob for themselves. This lead to a brief gunfight in which Tursal a native guide found sneaking around the outside of the Anasi base was critically injured as well as several of the Gendiver personell. Bob was recovered and according to test later carried out by Dr Keene had his identity confirmed.

The Interviewers seem pleased with Caios answers.

=============================================================================

The Anasi personnell are interviewed in the presence of a civilian, who identifies himself as Jocken Schmitt, apparently a lawyer hired by Anasi. Neither Suzanne or any of the others recognise him. He sits quietly at the side taking notes occasionally he whispers comments to one of the GEO Personell.

They are asked questions about why they are there. The two suriviving members of the Anasi reserch team both independantly state that they are doing field surveys on the mineral deposits in the area... The interviewer looks towards Schmitt who simply nods and hands over a data pad to the interviewer...

Suzzanne calmly gives her brief of the teams mission, to see what has happened to the survey team. She and Dr.Keene then relate all thier findings.

There are several grave looks from the interviewer as he listens to the report then glances at the datapad. He then releases the players without a word.

===============================================================

The players are transported back to Haven, Suzanne and Dr Keene are released from service with Anasi (but kept on a retainer) and amply compensated for their work. James and Bruce recieve their reward, paid into their accounts in Anasi company scrip. Caio is invited to perform research with a GEO Survey team. The two surviving Anasi survey members are not seen again.... presumably shipped offworld.

================================================================

The Aftermath.

It is concluded by the GEO that Gendiver spies discovered that Anasi planned to site a large company town close to Pettibourne and that a Anasi security advisor (working as a spy for Gendiver) implimented the attack to disrupt Anasis efforts. The GEO not keen to face off against Gendiver instead veto Anasi's proposals for this site instead giving a licence for a different more favourable site.

=================================================================

What Actually Happened.

Anasi planned an attack against their own base with the intention of either planting the blame on Gendiver or forcing the GEO to accept their own plans.

The survey crew were all second grade expendable employees, with the exception, of the Security Advisor, who wasn't a spy, but was still considered expendable. The equipment was surplus GEO stock, appropriated legitamately from the GEO by a Gendiver employee (actually a Anasi plant) who diverted the equipment so that it could be found and used by the security advisor. Being stripped down, the equipment didn't have adeqaute environmental protection, and its contents, the  suit, was damaged in the placement process. The truth was that it had been tampered to make the suit recycle toxic gases rather than expell them.

Earlier, he and two of the others headed off to do a field survey. He killed both then headed back to recover the suit to complete the attack on the camp. He left the bodies where they lay thinking that the jungle scavengers would dispose of any DNA evidence.

When the security advisor used the suit in the attack he did so in the full suit, which had no cooling systems (because they had become damaged). So when headed back out after the attack he was somewhat nauseated/disorientated, took his helmet off and was ambushed and strangled by a Hanging Joe. His disorientation obviously casued him some problems because he failed to find and kill Susan, used his security pass to open the lab door and failed to finish the job by killing Bob. Bob was found by the two hunters and taken back to town. They got the Doctor, who worked out that he was an Anasi employee and informed Gendiver, who sent round a squad of Goons....
