The Last Anton OOC
« on: October 22, 2009, 09:09:38 PM »
Okay, folks, here's our OOC thread. Jump in and say hi once you've registered.

Once we get everyone confirmed as on board, each of you may create a thread for just your character's information (bio and character sheet). I'll use the "Information" thread to post generic ship and cast information (including the Drake's stats, important crew members and experience awards after each adventure).

I'm really looking forward to getting this game started!

Eeeeexcellent!

That's three. JALU3 should hopefully be over here in some incarnation soon.

Renny, for some reason, I haven't received your character sheet yet in my email. Could you go ahead create a thread for your character and post it there? Thanks. Also, would you be so kind as to create a human navigator, rank of lieutenant j.g., with 2 advancements? Thanks.

PG, if you could create the ship's surgeon after you complete your character? Human, lieutenant, 4 advancements. Thanks!

Nolmir, get your character idea posted (either here or on TrekRPGNet when you get a chance. We're not in a major hurry.

PG, Renny, how many advancements were you two looking at for your respective characters? Renny, it looks like Churchill will have 7-9 advancements, based on his age.

Okay, here's the character idea:

Lt. Garav Idrani, Starship Security Officer
Andorian male, late 20's

Garav's father was a member of the Andorian Defense Force, and of course encouraged his son to follow in his footsteps. Garav, however, found that the mission of the Force was too limiting for his tastes. He wanted to see the galaxy, not stay in orbit around Andor for months. He joined Starfleet instead.

He graduated from Starfleet Academy, and his first posting was as a security officer on the USS Penn. His professional conduct and aptitude for the work quickly earned him a promotion. However, he found it difficult to rise further in the ranks and the estimation of his superiors due to his lack of computer skills and limited non-martial skills. Being a stubborn Andorian, he didn't give up, instead working harder to improve his weak areas. Soon, his work paid off and he made Lt., and a while later was put in command of the Security Department on the USS Omtala.

Now, he's arrived on the last Anton...

Pending your approval, I'll put together a char. sheet and post it.

Hi

Sorry about the sheet. Outlook was messing me about. You should have it now but i'll create a thread later anyway and post him there also.
I'll create a navigator as requested later and send it to you for approval.
As far as advancements go, I went with 6 for Churchill due to his late graduation.
Off to work now, i'll check in later

Looks good, Renny. Thanks. What Background and Professional Development packages did you use for Harry?

Also, for everyone, set your character's starting experience at 1,000 per advancement. Thanks.

Just a quick note on the character sheet format:

I forgot to change the wound level penalties back to the standard array of (0)(-1)(-3)(-5)(-7)(-9), next to their health score. Only characters with the High Pain Threshold edge use (0)(0)(-1)(-3)(-5)(-7).

Renny, you'll need to change that on your character sheet.

Hey everyone, guess who.  As I had told Sea Tyger, I have seemed to lost my Core book to the sands of time.  SO I have ordered a used one via amazon.  I bet you all that it'll magically appear when I don't need it, sometime after I receive the one via ICON. Such is life.

SO what have I missed?

Welcome, JALU. Glad to see you made it.  :welcome:

Hey, Davy, I have a question about equipment. I've been thinking that Garav would have a Hrisal and a Chaka(Andorian traditional weapons) and would carry one if allowed. How are you handling personal equipment? The PG doesn't say anything about starting equipment or credits, so... Just let me know your policy.

Hopefully we'll get a little more activity around here when everyone goes back to work.  ;)

I would say that your character would have traditional cultural weapons. As far as actually carrying a weapon like that on duty, I'd say that Starfleet would frown upon it. You could have it on board, practice with it, carry it with you (when you can legally do so) when on shore leave...but not when you're on duty. (And that's the case partly because Starfleet knows it's primarily a dueling and sporting weapon, dueling being the active word.

Renny, I saw the character posting, thanks. I'll take a look at her more thoroughly tomorrow.

Dice Rolls

One of the nice thing about this site is being able to make dice rolls in a thread.

To roll the dice in the thread, use the following code:

(colon)dice xdy+z(colon)

(Of course, use the actual colon symbol.)

So, if you want to roll 2d6+4, you would use the formula above.

(colon)dice 2d6+4(colon)

The result will look like this:

Rolling 2d6+4:
(6+6)+4: Total = 16

If you have no modifier, then you drop the +z

(colon)dice 2d6(colon)

with the result looking like this:

Rolling 2d6:
(6+4): Total = 10
