They take off up the trail, they are both tottering a bit as they walk.

Sankara knows exactly where to set the fire to get his home to go up quickly.

He easily catches the women as they reach the tilted rock.

"Walk easy, we have far to go, and if they chase, they'll catch us, no reason to be tired out, we rest when you need it, walk when you are ready to walk, and we'll camp when you've had enough."

Sankara walks behind until he has their pace, then moves ahead, but keeping it slow, since distance, over weeks, is more important than distance today.

(Sankara knows the north, east and west rapidly peter out to tribals, but does he know there's towns south at all, down the Indus valley. . .or are we so timeline early those towns don't exist yet?)

The Indus valley towns are just beginning, like the one he came from. There may be others, however trade is not all that developed now.

Would Sankara know enough to go south, rather than north? North is rabid wilderness for the next 8000 years. I could go help found Mohenjo-Daro. . .

Actually, Sankara was warned off the north, the beast man who "killed him" lives in a cave up there. . so Sankara's goal is north a little, then east to the river, then south along the river until they're well away from town, then look for a new place to settle in, or a new group to join.

if our town is on the river, Sankara will intend to cross, then head south past the town on the far side of the river.

The town is near the river, some of it is on the river, but as of now only one bank. Sankara can go around the way he described.

So he is heading south on the far bank of the river?

That's the intention, I assume with no rain it shouldn't be too rough getting to the far side and staying out of sight of the town.

There appears to be no pursuit after a few hours travel south of town.

Sankara intends to keep going, rest when the women need it, stop when they need it, and get a good distance away while looking for some place to land. . . .can't really live out in the wild alone unless it's a really out of the way spot. . .so either something totally off the track, or a new group to join.

However, this is a good place to stop for the nonce and start a new thread.

Sankara can take 3 character points. I figure the Undying will be paid for with off screen character points as the years advance.
