I'm looking forward to this game. :)

Hey! Mort,
Quote
Roster:
-Seamus Patrick Behan, photographer - Played by Philjun
-Kirk Templeton, writer - Played by David68
-Tabitha "Tabs" Barclay, distillate aeronaut - Played by Tabs
-_________________, skeptical illusionist - Played by George Gammell
I had to look it up, the word "distillate"; here is what a dictionary says:
Quote
dis·til·late
   /ˈdɪstlɪt, -ˌeɪt, dɪˈstɪlɪt/ Show Spelled[dis-tl-it, -eyt, dih-stil-it] Show IPA
–noun
1.
the product obtained from the condensation of vapors in distillation.
2.
any concentration, essence, or abstraction.
Are you hinting that Tabitha will have the "vapors"--a strange, senseless or fantastic notion.

So . . . you're a smart 'arse'.  Good to know.  You'll die first.

[Edit] Let's go ahead and make this thread our OOC thread for the game, since it seems to serve no other purpose.

Lurker's lounges are generally where people not in the game are allowed to comment. . .like if they observe and enjoy they can comment here, but if they posted into your game threads it  would be disruptive.

Makes sense.  Cancel my last missive then. I'll make an OOC thread when the time comes.  Until them, post here as you like.

Thank you.
When dealing with Lovecraftian horrors, I suppose that to die first and most quickly is the more merciful end.

Lurk lurk.

I'll watch this one.

Hope you wont mind a comment from the penut gallery.
By all means. The cheap seats are free for this one.

I don't know if this game will be of any interest to you Lovecraftians, but if it is . . .

I definitely like the setting, but I limit myself to one game only unfortunately.

Quite understandable. I am discovering that this PbP thing is a bit too much like crack for my own good.

I'm tempted because you are doing a good job moderating HitH. [Creep creep]--does Tabitha receive a Gimmie? However, I agree with David68, also it looks like lots of others are interested, and also I'd have to change my avatar?--which I like.

It has filled up very quickly, far more quickly than I anticipated. I closed recruitment last night for fear of waking up this morning with ten interested parties. If any are still interested in the game after the introductory scenario, I'm sure there will be spots open by then.

And thanks. I think you all are doing a fine job yourselves, far better than many of the games I read before coming here.

I love how CoC pushes characterization, likely because combat is often an exercise in futile suicide. . .

I’ve been spending so much time thinking about (and enjoying) this game that couldn’t join another, but I surely will lurk that one.

I just accidentally deleted the post by Celedor in attempting to quote it. Sorry. (If you can restore it, please, feel free.) He was commenting on how the lethality of combat in CoC forces more characterization. I was going to agree and affirm that is why I like CoC BRP. Combat is so chaotic and uncertain, just about anything can happen (typically including the infamous "total party kill").

Restored.

Definitely. . .when hammers no longer work, problems stop looking like a row of nails.

For those of you who didn't see it posted elsewhere . . .

Scooby Doo does Cthulhu:

A student just Facebooked me to tell me that the Scooby Doo cartoon on Cartoon Network just paid proper homage to Mr. Lovecraft. I'm looking for the video now.

[edit] http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/tv_shows/scoobydoomysteryinc/index.html?episodeID=8a250ab02be33dcf012be9401f31013e

The episode is called "The Shrieking Madness" and apparently has a villain named "H.P. Hatecraft."

The kids and I are about to watch.

Google shows me this one as well for those of you who aren't in the US:

http://www.mytvxy.com/scooby-doo-mystery-incorporated-s01e12-the-shrieking-madness.html

Don't know how long that link will last . . .

This song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqq0lMhPTb4&feature=related) has been playing in my head during the game. It is kinda on theme, especially the ending verse. At this point in the story,  I feel rather tempted to have Seamus storm into the pawn shop asking for a switchblade
