Man CDB, your alternate world is worse that I thought. Cats hasn't been here for decades (Thank whatever diety you choose. I thank the chinese takeout joints for cleaning up that 'cat' problem)
You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha...  - Vizzini

Heh. I took my wife to see Cat's in St. Louis when we were dating. I kinda liked it. Lots of well built women running around in form fitting outfits.

Took her to see Phantom of the Opera later. I much preferred Cats. There was only a few women, and they wore a lot more clothes.

For the next couple of weeks, my internet access will be spotty. I can't make any promises for response time.

All that I can thinl of now when I hear Peggy is that annoying creidt card commercial with the eastern european guy say "Hallo, dis is Peggy." in a very masculine voice.

This will give you a good idea of who Peggy is.

In RL I am working with a regulator that sounds just like this guy.  Everyone involved in the project now refers to him as Peggy.

So there is a series of ads in the same theme.

Sounds like a bad female impersonater. Jesse better be careful!

Barring some sort of miraculous healing, Jessie is going to wind up with a crippled leg. That is a 15 point disability.

Crippled leg: You have one bad leg; your Move and Dodge are
reduced by 3. You suffer a -3 penalty to use any physical skill that
requires walking or running. This definitely includes all handweapon
skills and all martial arts (missile weapon ability is unimpaired).
-15 points.

Now, in the course of a game a character takes much banging and beating and his points will fall or rise as time goes on.

However, that being said, I am toying with the idea of allowing him to replace his alcoholism with this if there is a sufficiently well thought out in-game reason.

I'm happy with either way.

In the short term I could atually see him hitting the bottle if he has an opportunity, due to his wound.

Eh, you're right. I will make him buy it off. He's going to have points coming soon anyway.

Hey Use,

It just occurred to me that you have a couple of bedridden characters in my games. Heh.

Yes, both leg wounds.

I guess I'm lucky.

(Yeah, playing lacrosse and hitting people with my 6 foot stick. I totally destroyed my anterior cruciate ligament and a bunch of cartilage when I stepped in a hidden hole in the grass and it buckled. The damage locked the joint open and I couldn't walk on it. Had surgery and they took a tendon graft and drilled holes into my leg bones to anchor and pin it in, in place of the old one. Now comes the rehab.)
This sucks, I need a damn drink.
Jesse slowly and gingerly inches out of his sleeping bag and to the tent flap. He opens it up, smelling the food reminds him how hungry he is.....and maybe a drink with dinner.

I went through the same thing about 10 years ago. The results were great and my knee was back to just about 100%. However, there were two things that I experienced.  About 4 or 5 months after surgery, one day in the early evening I had an incredibly sharp stabbing pain inside my knee.  It was like a hot knitting needle being stabbed into the bone, but only lasted a few minutes.  Shortly after the pain passed, my wife exclaimed, “Looks it’s snowing!”  It appears that pressure change of the approaching storm caused the screw to expand faster than the bone.  Once the bone expanded the pain passed.  The good news is this has never happened again.

In my surgery, they used my own ligament—a piece of the patella tendon—taking a small chip of bone from my knee cap and one from the lower leg bone.  They use these chips to anchor the end of the new tendon.  The other issue was that the area where they took the ligament graft from my lower leg always hurts when I kneel on it.  It’s not as bad now as t was earlier on.  For a while I was condemned to join the old ladies who could not kneel down at church.

Overall I would get the surgery in a heartbeat again if I ever needed it.  One last thought, take you vitamins.   It was a recommendation given to me after a back surgery and it did seem to help.  It just makes sense, your body is trying to rebuild itself, why not give it the bits it needs to do so.
