Points taken. I have edited my original post to include the correct numbers. By the way, I forgot to mention that I have put skill specialities in brackets, but you probably figured as much. Looking forward to the game. If it's anything like your CoC game, we're in for a real treat!

Thanks.  I look forward to it as well. As we get closer to the weekend, I'll move your sheet to a "Character Roster" thread.

How are the other sheets coming? Anyone have any questions?

Background:

James ‘Jim’ Thomas Gately always wanted to be a cop. He liked the idea of being there for his community, of helping those in need, and of making a genuine difference to the lives of those around him.

Things change.

As the years went by, Jim’s outlook changed – not too much mind – he still believed in Justice and the Law, but he saw the police force – bogged down with bureaucracy, with the occasional sprinkling of corruption and graft   - and was saddened. He still worked his beat with vigour each day, but eventually the sadness turned to anger. He began to hate what the force – his force, that he had worked with for years, that he had made his life – had become, an inefficient juggernaut, to slow to react to the clear problems that were presented to it.

One day, he heard a rookie cop laughing with his pals about ‘some dumb black bitch who just wouldn’t shut up’ that they had ‘taught a lesson’. He snapped, and beat the guy near into a coma. The ‘incident’ was quietly hushed up – partially out of respect to Jim’s years of service, and partially because the department couldn’t afford another scandal. He was quickly and quietly paid off and dispensed with. Just like that. Jim felt betrayed, discarded, used. For a while he just sat on his couch watching TV – paralyzed by near-depression. His loving wife Amanda helped him through it however, and he got back on his feet, and began to work as a security guard. He still sees his cop buddies for a beer now and again, and he’s kept up with his shooting – but he knows that they’re all moving away from ‘that guy they used to work with’.

Jim, whilst seemingly happy, feels like there’s something missing. As if there was some great purpose he needed to fulfil, but has yet to find.

He is still looking.

Well - here is the 'jaded ex-cop'. TIf you will allow Mort, I would like to take the merit: Fighting Style (Combat Marksmanship), from World of Darkness Armoury. If not, it is to be replaced by Iron Stamina [as indicated in the Merits section on the sheet ]

Thoughts?/Comments?

It looks as though you only have 10 dots in physical skills. You have one more to spend, unless I'm missing something.

Merits:
Allies (Police) 3
Fighting Style (Combat Marksmanship) 2/Iron Stamina 2
Natural Immunity 1
Direction Sense 1
I don't have any of the "Armory" books, so for now you better go with "Iron Stamina."

Everything else looks good.

Background:

Todd grew up in a lower middle class family, had a good childhood with loving caring parents,  and was basically a good kid. Except he had some shady friends. They were always nice to Todd and he cant say they did anything wrong by him.... just that they had a bad influence on him. As an older teenager, he went along with his friends on a few 'break and enters'. They showed him the basics on picking locks and defeating basic burglar alarms.

This new interest gave Todd the incentive to study more about security systems at community college, where he got his trade in electronics.  He got a real scare when two of his friends got caught and went to prison. After that he stopped going along with his friends on those kind of ‘expeditions’, although he would still offer his dodgy friends the benefit of his professional expertise.

Todd always enjoyed hitting the town, sometimes in a big way. His friends always like to joke that he learned to fight the hard way....by getting a beating. That was only partially true, after the first time, Todd resolved to learn something of fighting. In his mind he always called it fighting,  it was never self defence. Over the years he found, with practice, he was quite good....however he often used this skill, or more often the threat of it, when he drank.

Todd did the done thing, he got married and had a couple of kids. It didn’t last. He didn’t care anymore and she was a screeching shrew. It was better for the kids if he left. Now he has a small crappy apartment. Not as nice as his last place, but at least he can do wants he wants...like drink and hand out with his old crew.

The last few years, Todd has seen his kids only every other weekend, not that he has much money to make their infrequent visits much fun. This last 18 months he has come to the realisation that he’s stuck in a dead end job and rapidly looking at 40, but he’s too proud to admit that he’s made a bad choice and to look for something elsewhere. Todd’s old buddies are starting to ask again if he’s up for another break and enter. They know about his financial situation and are trying to help him, as well as helping themselves to his talents. He’s finding it increasingly difficult to find reasons to say “no”.

Background:
Josh Caulder have lead a pretty normal life, and only recently started out on the path of being a reporter – about 2 years ago, perhaps.
He have been doing a number of smaller things for some internet sites, but thought he had found his niche in crime journalism, when a good friend, and sometimes lover, at the city hall gave him a hint about the project at Comfort Place. Just to nice to her, he is going to investigate a bit – it might give a reward, one way or the other...

Your Speed should be 9.

You can come up with your third contact on-the-fly (as the story develops).

You may begin posting. As soon as you post your background, I'll add you to the roster.

Damn! Sorry. I'll chop one off. I'll think I'll lose weaponry.

I've got a dot in the Fleet of Foot merit, so that's why it's 10 :)
And I'll try to get the last pieces of background fittet together, and posted, hopefully today.
That should also flesh out the contacts more. And I'll add the 3 skill specialties during play, if that's okay?

Right - added some background to the character sheet now.
I'm not entirely happy about it myself, but I have to admit that I'm kind of blank when it comes to the details about him... I'll try to add more when it shows up in my head :) most likely small details, explaining skills and merits.
