Jesse grunts in agreement, then after a pause he adds.

"So whats your plan?"

She grins, flashing perfect white teeth. "Well, my plan right now is to heal up. I don't know if you recall, but I was shot as well. Then I plan on moving somewhere and trying to contact the underground somehow. How's that for a plan?"

Jesse raises his head to look at Peggy's wound.

She is wearing a heavy flannel shirt and he can't see the bandage under it. She has changed clothes since the shooting.

He falls asleep again.

The sun is getting low in the sky when he wakes again and hears someone stirring outside.

Jesse is jolted awake by the noise, but calms himself.

Probably Peggy.

He looks around for the painkillers as his leg is throbbing and the last ones have long worn off.
