The next thing Jessie knows, the dog is whining to go outside and it's very cold.

Jesse groggily comes to letting out a quiet moan as he struggles to a sitting position.

He unzips the tent flap.

"Go on boy." he mumbles to the dog. "Last thing I need is you wizzing in the tent."

(Is it day or night?)

It's still dark outside and very cold. Unzipping the tent lets lots of nice crisp cold mountain air in. There are a lot of bright stars though.

Jesse takes a moment to watch the stars. He gropes about for some pain killers.

(Is there a light source about. Electric lantern, torch?)

There are no lanterns, and he didn't bring a flashlight, so it's only the starlight.

Then he fumbles in the dark until he finds the crinkly strip of pankillers. He swallows two.

Is the dog gone or is it sniffing about, doing it's business? Or can't Jesse see?

The dog is out of sight right now. He can see by the starlight, but not very well.

Jesse waits 15 minutes, watching the stars, until the painkillers kick in.

The sky begins to lighten a bit. Almost imperceptibly. The dog comes back about 10 minutes later.

Jesse calls the dog back, softly.

"Come on boy. come on."

He then zips the tent back up and settles back to grab a few more hours sleep.

The dog jumps into his tent, his feet are wet with dew and somewhat muddy. He is much more interested in seeing what Jesse had to eat last then going to sleep.

Jesse fends off the dogs wet nose from his mouth, but gives the dog a hug.

"Git out of it! Come here."

Jesse tries to brush the worst of the gunk off the dogs paws.

He hears stirring from the other tent, the faint rustle of fabric on plastic.

Jesse will not call out or anything and wait to see if Peggy is waking up.

The rustling gets louder, and then he hears the flap being unzipped. Peggy steps out into the early light, he realizes that she is one of the most beautiful women he has ever seen. And she is wearing no makeup.

Jesse stares until he realises his mouth is open. The sight of her almost makes Jesse get to his feet, until he moves his leg.

He tries to think of something to cover his gawking, but comes up with, "Sorry, did I wake you?"

(Heh. In my fraternity they gave me one nickname of Mr. Smooth (The other was Blade. Don't ask

).

Some of my better pickup lines, "Your little bitty." or "Well, I think I like you and I figure you like me or you wouldn't be talking to me, so wanna go out?"

Once a girlfriend saw one of my ex girlfriends and asked me "Am I better looking then her?" my response "In the face...yeah."

One girlfriend blurted out "I love you." my response "Well, uh... I'm glad somebody does."

I feel your pain.)

"Yeah, the dog needed a wizz." he says as he tries to mentally recover.

Damn this %$#@ing leg he thinks, although he had the scary thought that she could easily do him bodily harm.
