" Thank you ladies but it's time to retire for this ... environment. " Giles said with a frown. Giles turns to his creations and makes his way to Old 49 to talk to him.

Robots NEVER let him down like other biologicals...

Giles began to plot evil things about the sheriff for intervening and being harsh!.

"Sal, Care to join these two very lovely ladies as I will accompany them to a room. Then.. then I will spank them!, yes.. and after that..... " Giles continues as he travels up the stairs Then barking out orders to the bots.

" Rachel, come with us!"

" Mark November Four Niner, Post at the base of these stairs, Scan "

Giles retires with Rachel to add to his perversion of fleshy sins. Rachel also observes the two movements whilst they all sleep.

Try as he might Giles' voice isn't loud enough to carry over the music, cheers and applause from the busy tavern nor is he able to penetrate the crowd gathered around Rachael.
The sexy android stays perched on the table dancing to the rhythm  of the music ogled by over a hundred dirty, sweaty miners and nearly a dozen mercenary guards spectate from a short distance... to no bad end.
At the very worst the outcome for this evening is that SHE ends up making a few hundred extra dollars in gold... unless someone instigates a riot by trying to drag away the main event of the night from a hundred sexually charged workmen that would be just as happy entertaining themselves with violence.

"...if your friend is so important why wasn't a meeting already arranged?

“I’ve been wondering that too.”

Quote
“…while you wait try to enjoy your life while you still have one."

As the man got up to leave the bar Salazar said, “Thanks for the tip.” But he was really thinking that a man can’t afford to just let down his guard. He snapped his attention to the Synth bartender not far away behind him. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the working girls approach his comrade. Seeing him in no immediate danger, he asked the nearby bartender, “Who’s that guy in the trenchcoat?”

Right after the response, he saw the doc beckoning him. With a nod he walked over, picked up the SHE bot’s clothes laden with cash, and followed in tow with the older man. If he was content to leave his creations behind, then that was not Salazar’s concern.

“I got your earnings here, but can hold onto it if you’re gonna be busy a while. Say, did you already have an appointment with Mr. Sparks, doc?”

He walked with the man waiting for his reply.

“Well, I won’t be joining you for the festivities. Let’s just say I’m already spoken for. Did you want me to stand guard, or just bunk down and meet you here in about 6 hours?”

"Unknown." The synth replied briefly before returning to her work, for all their social retardation they certainly got to the point fast enough.
The man in question, the stranger was currently heading back to the bar with a look of frustration on his face. Reaching over the bar the man in the trenchcoat disconnected the needle on the record player that supplied the music to the entire tavern, the oversized device looked like a mutated gramophone with series of pipes that ran up to the roof and poured out music from all corners of the room.
Suddenly the entire tavern was significantly quieter, the voices of the crowds could now be easily heard but most of them where dying down to peer over and see why the music stopped in the middle of a track.

By the record player the stranger stood now with the attention of many of the tavern's patrons, some of whom called out asking why the music had stopped... he looked angry and was pointing in the direction of Salazar, now that the noise had died down he shouted out to some of the miners near the Gheredi mutant...

"Grey! Fennis! Grab that guy! That mutant newcomer!"

A very large looking mutant and human turned to see where the stranger was pointing and lay their eyes on Salazar, jumping up from their chairs they made a move towards the merc just when he was about to leave quietly with Giles and a handful of cash...

Salazar suppressed the instant fight or flight response. He stopped mid-stride and turned back toward the man shouting orders. He spoke to the two miners beside him, but in a voice loud enough for the others to hear, “Grey & Fennis, there's no need. You can go back to your drinks.” He waved them off, making no further attempt to move. “I’m interested in what the man has to say.” He looked at the man in the trenchcoat trying to read his intentions and guess what had suddenly angered him, but outwardly looking confident and cool.

“All you had to do was ask,” he said. Inwardly he tracked the movements of those around him, looking for potential threats.

Ignoring Salazar's word the two men grab hold of the mercenary's arms and grip them tight holding him where he stands, the spectacle has caught the attention of several of the surrounding patrons who gathered round to see what happens as the stranger in the trench coat crossed the distance to Salazar.
Without exchanging a single word the stranger dived into the pockets of Salazar's combat fatigues and proceeded to search the mutant, after a few seconds the man appeared to have found what he was looking for... a golden pocket watch attached to a short chain that he pulled out of the merc's left pocket.

Opening the watch the stranger revealed the name Alek engraved inside the casing and showed it to the mutant holding Salazar, "Your name Alek?" he asked both rhetorically and sarcastically.

"Thief!" One of the spectating miners yelled out, it seemed to catch the attention of a few more people who gathered around to see what the commotion was all about...namely the mercenary guards Salazar had already run into.

"What's all this then?" The big mutant bouncer asked, "Took my watch..." the stranger replied "...check his pockets you were with him before, see if he's got anything of yours."

The two men holding Salazar gripped him even tighter as the big man went through his pockets checking a few of the items within, after another few seconds he pulled out a small leather pouch filled with silver coins. Glaring at Salazar the guard pocketed the coin pouch and raised an eyebrow as if daring the smaller mutant to explain, in the end he simply smiled a took a step back, drew his pistol and aimed it right between the mercenary's eyes.

"PIT!!" Someone in the crowd called out, this seemed to cause an excited murmur to pass through the audience who began to call out 'pit' first at random but then as the shouting became more unified it turned into a chant that became louder and louder...

"PIT!!" "PIT!!" "PIT!!" "PIT!!" "PIT!!" "PIT!!" "PIT!!"

Slowly the bouncer's pistol lowered and his smile grew even broader and slightly sadistic, he passed his pistol off to the other guard and cried out in tune with the frenzied mob. "...PIT!!"

The dark mutant looked hard in the eyes of the long coat stranger. Salazar knew he couldn’t hear him over the deafening chants, but the man could probably understand the simple words directed his way, “You and me need to have a talk.”

Salazar resigned himself to being dragged off to the pit. After all, how would he resist an entire mob? In the pit fight, he might even come out on top, and win a little respect. The odds were better than him dodging a bullet anyway.

In an instant Salazar was stripped of his guns, knife, multi-tool and everything else the mob could get their hands on that looked like it could do any damage.
Hoisting him up into the air the crowd carried him across the floor all the while chanting and cheering for their imminent source of entertainment, as they carried him away one of the miners called for the music to be turned back on and another called out to put on the chakra booster.

The little synth woman behind the bar ducked down and began fishing through a collection of records then finally found the requested track... she gently placed the vinyl into the machine and lowered the needle down onto the edge, a few seconds later the sound system blared reverberating the music out through the pipes and off the walls playing this song:

http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/468652

Parting the crown already gathered around the pit the big mutant bouncer made a path for the new group to push in carrying a helpless Salazar along with them, when they reached the edge they simply tossed the mercenary in face first letting gravity and the dirt floor of the oversized hole solve the problem of getting him in.

On the far corner two men were being dragged out on the slightly sloping edge of the pit, one of them was climbing, the other was clearly unconscious.

A great ring of jeering, taunting men and women surrounded the arena, some placed bets, others merely observed sipping at their drinks.

Suddenly one of the men jumped down into the pit a short distance from Salazar, he was human with sun-bleached hair, dirty tanned skin and dark eyes marking him as one of the miners... probably just another drunk bored workman looking for something to occupy the evening.

Regardless, he didn't look like he was going to take it easy...

One of his fellow mercs had played a prank, and dumped sand on his bedroll again. No wait, it was too bright, too much sand. He must have fallen asleep in the desert somehow. But the noise was too loud for that to be true. He inhaled a breath, and the overwhelming stench of sweat, blood, urine, and many other background odors struck the sense back into him. A horde of voices shouted above him. Then realization came back; he was in the pit.

The daze cleared as adrenaline flooded his system. In an instant Salazar was on his feet. He watched the tanned miner jump into the ring with him, and it was as if a switch flipped in his mind. Prey. A low growl came up in his throat and a cruel glint appeared in his eyes. It was time to hunt!

Giles calls out something then realizes that he can't be hear.

using his micro transmitter he convenes a data message to 49er

Datamail (Creator) to MU-49 "Move to base of stairs and scan)

Datamail (Creator) to She: Rachel  " Take bets up to 1,000. That Salazar will win this first round. "

Rachel gets the attention of the crowd which wasn't to hard and then telling the crowd that she is betting on Salazar to win the first round, she also states that if anyone feels comfortable enough with her hold the bets for now that she will take up to the first 1,000 worth of coins. House wins all tie, forfeitures and accidental deaths.

The mining robot already at the base of the stairs and already scanning gives Giles the best whimsical look an emotionless robot can, over amongst a crowd of admirers SHE inspired a similar result. Huddled around the sex android was a silent and slightly confused audience previously enjoying the woman's dance now just stared blankly thanks to her outburst about taking bets, eventually one of the mining girls stood up and shouted back what everyone was thinking but hadn't been bothered to say...

"Shut up and dance you insane bitch!"

Meanwhile in the pit Salazar's fight had started out with similar awkwardness, as the mutant charged to the offensive  the burly miner raised his arms to block the attack... but it was barely worth the effort.
The mercenary unaccustomed to fighting in such a manner as to not kill his combatant seemed to have overestimated his strength and overzealously pulled his punches, his first strike gently connected with the burly miner's arms as he blocked what he thought would be a powerful blow. Lowering his arms the miner gave Salazar the best whimsical look a drunken miner could... then flung a fist hard into the mutant's guts.

The miner had proved tougher than he looked, landing a solid thump to his abdomen. Salazar attacked with renewed ferocity. A lunge and swipe later, and his claws came away dripping blood.

The blood Salazar drew across the miner's arms didn't seem to put him off at all, in fact in appeared to invigorate him and the now frenzied miner attacked wildly throwing out a volley of blows. Striking the mercenary twice had done little damage as the mutant dodged the brunt of the force and the reckless offensive by the miner had left him open to counterattack.

Cheering from above the crowd of spectators spurred both men on eager to see if Salazar would take advantage of the opening and finish the battle or if the miner would recover in time to defend himself...

The dark mutant kept his arms up and alternately tried to deflect blows and move out of the way, with only limited success. He would have bruises from this fight, but his opponent had overcommitted. Salazar sidestepped to the right as the frenzied miner stumbled forward, suddenly without an opponent to pummel. A quick application of the heel of his left hand to the base of the grimy neck, and the miner fell senseless onto his side in the sandy pit.

Salazar flicked the blood off his claws and scanned the possible entry points to look for whoever might want to fight him next.

Two men jumped into the pit and dragged out the unconscious miner, the man had a few lacerations on his arms but otherwise he was fine.

A minute or two passed while men and women contemplated whether or not they wanted to enter the arena, after seeing what Salazar had done to the last drunken miner not everyone was quite so keen to jump into the pit so hastily. It was impossible to tell who was going to be next as Salazar surveyed the audience.

Suddenly there was a large thud on the ground behind him, turning to face his new opponent Salazar lay his eyes on the mutant bouncer... the one he'd 'stolen' the coin pouch from.
Having landed heavily and dropped to a knee the mutant guard picked himself up and took a step forward ready to engage the mercenary.

"Salazar of the Gheredi!" The guard called out, "...says that right here on your weapons permit." he held up the small metal card that permitted Salazar to carry arms in Sparks mine, "Didn't pick the Gheredi for thieves... guess you wont be needing this anymore." casually the bouncer crushed the card in his fist causing it to snap in half then tossed it aside.

"...at least we'll know where to send what's left of your body once we're finished with it."

Confidently the huge man advanced looming down on the smaller and much lighter Salazar.

"Come now little Gheredi... show us what your pathetic genome can do!"

As the larger mutant crushed the permit and hurled threats, Salazar backed up ready to dodge if the larger one came charging, but giving himself precious few seconds to speak before the fists started swinging.

He answered in turn, “You heard right about my clan. I’m no thief, and if I was, I’m not stupid enough to try stealing from the biggest bouncer here. Someone wanted this to happen and planted those things. Ask yourself what could someone else gain from you being in the pit, ‘specially while everyone’s distracted, watching you fight?”

Salazar wanted the words to reach the other mutant, but he didn’t cling to any hope that the man would believe him at this point. At the least, he might give the man the slightest hesitation in this fight as he tried to work out a question that had no immediate answer: Could someone be testing the bouncer or wanting to see him in harm's way? Could someone be planning a crime during the chaos? Years of survival and combat had taught him that combat is as much a mind game as it was a physical thing.

Uninterested in Salazar's words the bouncer advanced, fists raised and ready to do some damage...

Salazar stepped in first feinting to the right trying to throw his much larger opponent off balance, then the canny mutant quickly shifted to attack on the left... but the bouncer was no drunken overconfident miner looking for a good way to pass time. The guard caught Salazar's fist mid flight and grabbed on tight with a thick meaty hand and slammed another into the smaller mutant's guts, still clinging to the mercenary's fist the guard pulled him forward and threw him to the ground.

Once again Salazar had landed face first in the compacted dirt of the pit, once again he could taste the blood sweat and urine that had soaked into it over it's decades of frequent use... this fight was not going to be pleasant.

Meanwhile over by the staircase one of the prostitutes approached Giles and tenderly laid a comforting hand on his shoulder, "What's wrong handsome? You're not nervous are you? Big stropping man such as yourself's got nothing to fear from little old me..."
The other prostitute was a little more curious and examined the X-49 robot with her eyes wondering for a moment if there was a man inside and if Giles was his friend, or master.
"What... or who is that?" She finally queried.
