Willpower Checks!!!! ... ;) (Normally D2)

+3 Threat applied... (+1 Difficulty for Hakim, Tim and Gladys)
+6 "Speculative" Threat... will be added (max 3) to mental damage dice (equal to Difficulty) for failed checks..

Therefore it's a D2 check for Percy (it's less of shock for him.. foretelling... but a 19-20 Dread)

D3 Hakim, Tim And Gladys.

Hakim: D3, 0, 1-10 (Adds  +1 Threat for an extra dice)
Tim: D3, 1, 2-11 (Adds +1 Threat for an extra dice)
Gladys: D3, 1, 2-15 (adds +1 Threat for an extra dice)

Rolled 3d20 : 2, 10, 1, total 13
Rolled 3d20 : 15, 1, 13, total 29

Hakim makes the check, both Tim and Gladys fail... but only by one.

Their damage depends on whether Percy fails... Currently they will suffer one mental damage die each with up to 3 extra each, if Percy fails they will suffer less.. :)

But if he fails... he will “share” the penalty with Gladys & Tim?


Never mind. I re-read the rules and answerd my own question. I’ll take that extra die.

On the "bright Side" you only failed by one... but TWO Complications. Hmmm. That normally adds 4 Threat to my pool, but I'll immediately spend 2 as an 2 additional damage dice for Percy

+2 Threat added to Pool.

so attack dice are currently.

Gladys = 1 +2 =3 dice (Gladys has 1 point soak)
Tim = 1+2 =3 dice
Percy = 1+2+2 (Complication) = 5 dice.

Damage Dice = 1 or 2 =1-2 Mental damage, 6= Effect...

Let's see how this goes then..

Rolled 3d6 : 3, 3, 5, total 11
Rolled 3d6 : 3, 6, 6, total 15
Rolled 5d6 : 2, 1, 3, 4, 5, total 15

Not sure how much “damage” 3 Mental hits is... looks like 5 is the threshold for permanent effects.

I gave it a shot, to reflect his mental damage. It had an effect on him...I think the implications of the body being where Glady’s vision predicted affect him more than the body itself, but of course feel free to adjust the effects any way you see fit.

He’ll recover soon unless you decide otherwise. Though he may never look at his sister the same again...  :wizi:

Mental damage isn't exactly a "run out you die" situation... it's more a trigger for additional effects and running out simply makes it harder to recover from those effects.

e.g. Having 6 mental health and losing one point on 5 separate occasions isn't actually going to harm the character in anyway, but losing 5 at once... or losing 6 cumulatively will.

Percy will heal those points "eventually"... dependant upon rest (a good  night's sleep), the ministrations of another.. or through the use in-game mechanics*, and these I'll put in the information thread...

*which upon actually reading them means that failing the willpower check always causes a minimum of one point... so Tim suffers one point too.

Percy has 2 un-spent Momentum from excess successes from the insight check. Of which one I'll spend for some addition information.

That leaves 1 point, which could have been used on the observation check, either by Percy or one of the assists, I'll assume Percy.. ;)

Percy’s still looking around, but I’m guessing he’s seen most everything there is to see with thise observation rolls.

Are we still waiting on the Medical and Education rolls? Or are they no longer necessary?
