** if the increase in power was due to a node, you think it will work.

** but, from what you’ve read, casting while in a node is less of a strain (less pp used), and you recover from exertion more quickly. Nothing you’ve read so far indicates that the spell would fluctuate in power.

** However, Hallr’s library is very limited. He only has a small time (less than 100 pages) about nodes.

Ok, that puts me back at square one. I know what the problem is sort of, but have no way of localizing it other than wandering around the woods.

It may be that the 'zombie' effect is rare and only happens to those in the center of the effect, but I have no way of knowing, and no way of really finding that center.

Surely there must exist some way of finding the center of a node you're in other than just trial and error and wandering around?

** If you are in a node, yes, the regios would eventually point to the center strongest point of the node. Also you could just figure geometrically as you sense around the border (usually circular). (Then, once stored and if you have the HARP equiv of ROCO spells, you can do all that node to node stuff.)

So, assuming I was on the border of a node at the 'incident site', I could get a general directional sense towards the center of the effect with some work? So at least we'd be pointed in a direction?

Ok, Good enough.

That at least gives Red a idea how to head towards the probable source of the issue.

I'm going to pause further interactions on the main thread until some of the other players get a chance to weigh back in.

You don’t see anything other than the current party in your current surroundings.

I’d ask you for an attunement roll, but you aren’t going to find any current active magic, other than your own.

With Skrawk’s direction, you find the perch easy enough, and the Orc left the perch rather quickly, so tracking him through the branches is easy for you as well. It seems a little weird to be tracking movement through the trees, as the Orc jumps from tree to tree, the same principles apply to the trail on the ground, bent branches here, cracked limb there. You follow him much like Skrawk did, up to a point, and then the trail, all of a sudden, disappears.

Are orcs know to do this? It seems weird to me to have an Orc bouncing through the treetops like this, but maybe it's normal in the world and it's just weird to the player.

** from what you know about Orcs, which is very little, this is very odd. They are big, dumb, brutes.
